There is not much difference between the education in my country, Nigeria and the education here in England. The lectures in my courses have the same style of tutoring that the lectures in my 6-form college in Nigeria had when I was there. They introduce new topics and try to give examples which may or may not be real life examples just to make us understand the topic of the course better and make us appreciate the whole idea and this is the same way I was thought in Nigeria.
My lectures here at Essex both British and non-British speak correct English but the only difference is that the British lectures have British ascents, this is different from the lectures l had in Nigeria because non of them had British ascents. l like it though, it would be nice for me to have a British ascent! As for the tutoring materials such as the whiteboard, marker, projector e.t.c. we use all these in my last school. The lining of the seats though in some places like the Ivon Crewe lecture hall is different from the lining we have in Nigeria, in my last school there are tables then seats behind them just like those we have in our Academic skill classes on Tuesdays, its all good thought, there is very little educational culture shock for me here at Essex.

Educational Culture Shock(Heinrich)
Overall, the educational culture shock is not too big as I do not have any language problems and the classes are not too difficult yet. All in all, the way how teachers teach, the technology that is being used etc. is quite similar to the way things are done in Germany.
Therefore, I do not have a shock at all.
The only difference are the lectures as I have not gone to university in Germany and there were not any lectures in my school or teachers that would speak the whole time. During the lectures I find it quite hard not to fall asleep from time to time but I keep getting better at staying awake.
This is basicly the only major difference for me.

Educational Culture Shock Group 3 BLOG 2
As with the last blog, please take time to think about what differences you have noticed between the academic environment here at Essex University at the environment of the school or college etc. where you have just come from. Please plan your thoughts maybe first writing in Word so you can check you spelling, grammar, punctuation, style etc. before posting. As usual refrain from insulting or offensive language. I will have to remove it and it may constitute an academic offence.
